Myra’s Wells has recently repair this well. It dates from before Myra’s Wells were working in Burkina Faso but had fallen into disrepair.
It makes much more economic sense to repair old wells rather than just drilling a new borehole. This repair cost about £200 compared with around £5,500 for a new well.
The pictures show the water gushing out under natural pressure after the borehole was cleaned. The we repaired the pump and it is now being used again. We hope to have more pictures in due course.
