There are over 200 families living at Koudmi. In Burkina Faso, the idea of 2.4 children does not apply! We have heard stories of a “family” being 40, 50 or even 60 people! A family will include three generations – possibly even four generations. So, 200 families will be a LOT of people.

Training at Koudmi
After the pump is installed at a new well, a professional trainer will visit to make sure the people know how to look after it. The Training Manual is mainly pictures. Literacy rates are low. In any case, many of the local languages are just spoken, not written.
